Since the Priddis and Millarville Fair was suspended on March 23rd, I have received hundreds of emails and many, many phone calls from residents. All are saddened at the demise of the Fair for 2010 after 102 years, this would be the 103rd. Everywhere I go I hear stories about families who look forward to participating in this event every August.
I felt it was time I spoke up and gave my thoughts. I am a member of the MRAS and thanks to Patty Webb have had the privilege of volunteering in the baking section which, I might add, is dangerous for a person with a sweet tooth – I tasted Emily’s Fair winning Saskatoon pie! The people I have met are so enthusiastic, warm and friendly and easy to work with.
To think that this event will not go forward is just not right. I personally feel if a public meeting were held, the community would rally and find a way to go forward with the Fair this year!
